We have been seeing a flash of purple in denim wear every now and then, but the trend has not seriously catapulted to fame. Perhaps it’s because purple is a tricky color, and we, the non-celebs, would rather go for the conventional. Yet again, who likes to be conventional? Maybe it’s the perfect time of the year to try on something different — like purple pants! Here are some easy tips on how to wear the grape hue.
1. Start with Great-Fitting Pants!
I suggest the skinny or straight-cut fit — wide-legged or boot-cut styles will only add more unnecessary color. The look we are trying to accomplish is that of sleek and sassy. Take this pair of purple jeans by Current/Elliot.

2. Wear a Top in a Subdued Color
I like matching purple with warmer shades, for example, ecru or beige, gray, and navy. White is also a good choice, but I think it’s rather safe and boring. I would pick a top such as this one by Michael Kors (shhhh, it’s on sale!).

3. In This Chilly Weather, a Coat is an Absolute Must!
Opt for a short black jacket with interesting texture. This piece from Marc Jacobs is oh-so-stylish!

4. Complete the Look With Fabulous Shoes, a Trendy Yet Functional Bag, and Jewelry
