The denim fashion challenge for today is … to wear jeans with the knees blown out.

And I’m not talking about just a bit of distressing here or a little ripped hole there, I’m talking about a big, gaping hole right where the knees should be.

Lately, celebrities seem to love this jeans style, and quite a few female Hollywood celebrities have recently been spotted sporting the knee-less jeans look. The prevailing fit also seems to be the boyfriend jeans; we’ve seen Heidi Klum, Rachel Bilson, and Lea Michele in this look.

Ripped knee jeans come in different styles. If you want to try the look, you can go for the following boyfriend jeans like the Hollywood celebs:

Levi's LVC 505 Straight Leg and Current and Elliott The Boyfriend JeansLevi’s LVC 505 Straight Leg, $265.00; Current/Elliott The Boyfriend Jeans, $136.99

Or you can go for the same style in flared jeans:

Levis LVC 646 60's Flare and AG Adriano Goldschmied Angel Bootcut JeansLevis LVC 646 60’s Flare, $265.00; AG Adriano Goldschmied Angel Bootcut Jeans, $225.00

Of course, skinny jeans aren’t far behind on this look and probably have the most number of distressed styles:

Current/Elliott The Crop Skinny Jeans and 7 For All Mankind Gwenevere with White Fishnet BackCurrent/Elliott The Crop Skinny Jeans, $238.00; 7 For All Mankind Gwenevere with White Fishnet Back, $107.99

You can purchase these jeans online, or you can just distress, shred, sand down, and cut out the knees of your jeans yourself. It’s your choice!
