In August 2014, Venice was saturated once again with famous people as celebrities flocked to the city for the 71st Venice Film Festival.

Amidst all of these familiar faces, we were zeroing in on the perpetually beautiful Emma Stone. 10 years earlier, she dropped out of school to focus on her acting career.

Did Emma Stone finish high school?

No, she did not. Emma attended Xavier College Preparatory‍, a Catholic, all-female private high school in Phoenix, Arizona, as a freshman, but dropped out after one semester to become an actress.

“It was in high school, yeah. My freshmen year of high school. So, I only went to…that parlayed into a question…I was home-schooled for high school. So, I didn’t really have a traditional all of high school experience either. But then again, I don’t really see this as…I’m just going to make this a different question,” she responded in an interview with CinemaBlend in September 2010 when asked about her first acting experiences.

“I just realized what I was doing. To me, I don’t think this is really a high school movie. I think it’s more a story of reputation and miscommunication and the speed at which, with technology, that spreads now. So, it didn’t really feel like I was misinformed or had the wrong high school experience to try to bring this to life. You know it needed…Will didn’t really have a traditional high school experience either,” Emma said about the role as high school student Olive Penderghast in Easy A, a 2010 American teen comedy film.

“It’s nuts that they agreed to it,” Stone told The Hollywood Reporter in 2017 about her parents allowing her to drop out of high school. “I don’t condone it. Everybody should go through high school and graduate.”

The 25-year-old actress was in attendance at the 71st Venice Film Festival to promote her latest film, Birdman, which many were already speculating would be a shoo-in for an Oscar.

Before showing up at the red carpet wearing her gorgeous Valentino Couture emerald green tulle gown and new bob haircut, she first graced the movie’s photocall wearing a pair of printed pants.

Emma did not lack in style in her Proenza Schouler cropped top and printed tapered pants, Christian Louboutin Door Knock pumps in white, and Melinda Maria, Graziela Gems, and EF Collection accessories.

We can’t find anything to fault in the actress’ look. The tapered pants from Proenza Schouler’s Spring 2015 collection fit her to perfection.

She did a great job balancing the silhouette with a cropped top. We even like Emma’s updo! It suited the clean, business-like flair of her ensemble.
