Recent denim trends have been swinging toward the extremes in terms of leg width. Skinny jeans ruled the scene for quite a while, and sometime early this year, we saw the comeback of wide-legged and flared jeans.

While we love these silhouettes, we think it’s about time the trend pendulum stabilized and settled somewhere in the middle. And what’s right in the middle of skinny jeans and flare jeans? That’s right — the classic, timeless, and much-loved bootcut jeans.

Now that we think of it, bootcut jeans just might never become a big fashion trend. Because of their classic cut and universally flattering shape, bootcut jeans are considered a wardrobe staple for both women and men.

And when has a fashion foundation ever become a fad? Bootcut jeans are pretty much in a class of their own, like the white shirt or the little black dress.
