My eyes zeroed in on Carey among the long-gown-clad women at the event. Who knew pants could look more chic than gowns on the red carpet?
What’s so inspiring about the actress’ ensemble is that she has worn her pair of pants many times. She seems to have no qualms about recycling an outfit, making her a winner in my book. You can always trust her to create something new from the clothes she has worn and trick us into believing that every piece is entirely new.
Carey had worn this pair of high-waisted Lanvin pants with a tuxedo-like jacket, but she went for the retro look for this recent event. She was a modern-day pin-up girl in her Nina Ricci bustier top and Saint Laurent Mary Jane heels. It was a minimalist look, especially since Carey didn’t even bother with accessories — just a sleek black leather belt and drop earrings.
